Meet Dr. Klein

Dr. Jeffrey Klein is the owner and Medical Director of Dr. Klein Footcare Center. He brings over 30 years of experience to the Detroit community. Dr. Klein received his Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University and later attended Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine prior to his preceptorship with Dr. Matthew Borovoi and surgical residence at Harrison Community Hospital. He is well known in the industry for his outstanding work and exceptional patient experience. Dr. Klein has received numerous honors for his work including the Stickle Award for a medical article written on the diagnosis and treatment of ankle injuries. Currently, his focus is preventive care for high-risk patients with diabetes and poor circulation. Invested in his patients’ wellbeing, Dr. Klein pays special attention to each and every person he treats, working to create a professional and welcoming environment for everyone. Dr. Klein is committed to making foot care a pleasant experience and laying the proper foundation for long-term overall health. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, swimming and volunteering in the community to provide foot care to homeless population.

Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Robert Strasberger

Dr. Robert Strasberger is a Podiatrist at Dr. Klein Footcare Center. Known to his patients as Bob, he makes it his duty to perform quality footcare in our community. A graduate of Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, Dr. Strasberger previously spent 12 years in the mental health field in Detroit and surrounding areas, working with children, teens and adults. He says the most rewarding part of his job as a Podiatrist is his ability to provide significant relief from pain and discomfort in a relatively short time. Encouraged by the medical professionals in his industry, Dr. Strasberger continues to streamline his approach foot care. In the 20+ years he has worked in the medical field, he upholds the highest standards of professionalism and prides himself on treating all patients with the upmost respect. When he’s not in the office, Bob enjoys outdoor activities, such as gardening, hiking, camping and photography.

Dr. Andrew Thompson

Dr. Andrew Thompson is an associate physician at Dr. Klein Footcare Center. A native Detroiter, Dr. Thompson grew up in the Detroit area graduated from the University of Michigan. He received his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine at the Franklin University of Medicine and Science, Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago. Dr. Thompson completed his residency at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center in Aventura, Florida, where he was the chief podiatric surgical resident. He is also a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. For Dr. Thompson, the most rewarding part of his job is making a difference in people’s lives by bringing world-class foot care into the comfort of people’s homes. He enjoys the ability to see patients in a clinical and home setting and is inspired by the diverse range of conditions he’s able to treat. While Dr. Thompson specializes in foot and ankle surgery and trauma and wound care, he is committed to doing whatever is necessary to provide relief for his patients. When he’s not in the office or our courtesy van visiting patients at home, Dr. Thompson enjoys spending time with his newborn son, Ethan, playing golf and basketball, and cheering on Detroit’s sports teams.

Dr. Neal Kruman

Dr. Neal Kruman is an associate physician at Dr. Klein Foot Care Center. He has been practicing for over 51 years. Dr. Kruman's practice philosophy is to treat patients like they are family. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Kruman has lived in the Detroit area since he was five years old. He is a graduate of Michigan State University and received his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Kruman previously owned his own practice where he served the community for 30 years. He has received numerous honors over the course of his career including the Mildred Kaufman Award for Foot Orthopedics. He was published in Current Podiatry for his research on Podi-Burr. For Dr. Kruman, the most rewarding part of his job is helping patients receive the care they need and seeing the positive impact it has on their lives. Additionally, he enjoys working with colleagues and other podiatrists to find life-changing solutions for challenging cases. When he's not in the office, Dr. Kruman enjoys scuba diving, boating, going to the movies, and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Herbert Bircoll

Dr. Herbert Bircoll is a doctor of Podiatric Medicine at Dr. Klein Footcare Center. A native Detroiter, Dr. Bircoll attended the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine before returning home for his residency at Detroit’s Civic Hospital. Practicing for more than four decades, Dr. Bircoll has built a sterling reputation for outstanding patient care with a personalized approach for each unique patient’s needs. This extensive experience has lead Dr. Bircoll to provide expertise in the office and in a home care setting. Throughout his career, Dr. Bircoll says the most rewarding part of his job is the privilege of gaining the trust of others and helping to provide patients with comfort and relief. He is inspired every day by the desire to make valuable contributions to the field and educating patients on various care options. Dr. Bircoll has built his career by providing the best care and support for patients and going above and beyond to ensure their needs are met. Outside of the office, he loves spending time with his 4 grandchildren, golfing, exercising, and socializing with friends.
